And though there is more than enough product available out in the market nothing is better than homemade ingredients. Home sweet home after all. To make things easy, we have jotted down below some easy homemade face masks for men.
For Sensitive Skin:
1. Honey and Orange Juice
This is a mild mask to soothe and whiten the sensitive skin. Honey and orange make the skin light but they are very mild, unlike lime juice. Take 1Tsp of honey and 1Tsp of orange juice. Mix them well and gently massage on the face. Wash off with water after 15 minutes.
2. Egg and Oatmeal
Oatmeal is a great natural exfoliator and eggs do a great job of cleaning. Together they make a great face mask. Get 1 egg completely mixed with half cup of boiled oatmeal. Add 1Tsp of almond oil. Allow the mixture to come down to room temperature. Dab it on the face. Keep it for 10 minutes then wash it off with lukewarm water.
3. Gelatin and Citrus Fruit Juice
Citrus fruits are well known for brightening to cleaning the skin. Gelatin works as a great bond. Take flavorless gelatin and add 2Tbsp of fruit juice (lemon, lime, orange, grape) in it. Heat them until it comes to lukewarm. Rinse off with cool water after 15 minutes of application.
- It is better to use any method on a small part first to see if it suits or not.
- Use well-diluted things. So, your sensitive skin can handle it.
- Always use natural things.

1. Milk Cream and Oat

2. Egg yolk, Oatmeal, Honey and Banana
Egg and oatmeal will take care of the flaky dead skin cells hovering over your face, honey will give moisturizer and banana will add glow. Combine 1 egg yolk, 1 mashed banana, 2Tbsp of honey in a cup of boiled oatmeal. Allow it to cool down. Apply evenly to the face and keep it for at least 15 minutes to get set. Rinse off with chilled water.
3. Banana and Honey
Banana has good fat that retains moisture for dry skin. And we all know how good of a moisturizer honey is. Just take a ripe banana and 1Tbsp of honey. Mix them well. Keep it for 10 minutes on the face before removing.
4. Cucumber and Sugar
Sugar is a natural exfoliator. It takes off the dead dry cells. And cucumber is mostly water and is rich in moisture. It hydrates the skin well and soothes it. Cucumber also gets rid of dark circles and fine lines under eyes. Peel off a cucumber and mash it. Now add a spoon of sugar and store this mixture in the refrigerator. Bring out once it cools down. And then apply it on your face.
5. Aloe Vera and Olive Oil
Aloe Vera soothes, hydrates, and moisturizes the dry skin. Olive oil brings back the moisture that dry skin has lost. Just mix 2 spoons of aloe Vera gel with 1 spoon of olive oil. Apply this mask on the skin. Once it dries then wash it away.
6. Cabbage and Yeast
Cabbage can provide anti-aging benefit and yeast can heal acne and wounds. Extract juice from cabbage leaves, and add a little bit of yeast with a few drops of honey. Leave it to dry after applying. First, use lukewarm water to wash it off then splash cold water.
7. Egg and Almond Oil
Egg white tightens the pores and yolk provides moisture. Almond oil (buy it from Amazon) provides deep cleansing of pores. Take 1 egg and 1Tbsp of almond oil. Mix properly and apply on your face. Rinse off with cold water after 10-15 minutes.
Some Other Tricks for the Dry Skin Owner:
- Keep a mask made of milk and honey for 20 minutes on face and neck before washing.
- Apply a mask of mashed strawberry, pineapple and banana on the face and neck for 20 minutes.
- Apply mashed avocado and rinse with lukewarm water after half an hour. Later again rinse with cold water.
- Mix butter and water and apply it on face concentrating especially on the dry patches. Wash with cold water after 30 minutes.
- Apply milk available in the home. You can also add some drops of honey if you want.
For Oily Skin:
1. Tomato and Lemon
Mix 1 ripe mash tomato with 1Tbsp of lemon juice and oatmeal each and leave it on the face for 10 minutes. Use warm water to rinse off.
2. Clay Mask
Take any clay like Kaolin or Fuller’s Earth. Add any liquid like distilled water, rose water, aloe Vera, egg white, egg yolk, honey or witch hazel to form a thick smooth paste. Apply it and wash off later when it gets dry and tight on the skin. This mask controls excess oil, treats pimples and also helpful for blackheads.
3. Oatmeal, Egg White, Apple and Lemon Juice
Mix one cup of boiled oatmeal with egg white, 1 cup crushed apple and 2 Tbsp of lemon juice to make a smooth paste. Allow the oatmeal to chill. Keep it for 15 minutes and later take off with a clean piece of cloth. Wash off with lukewarm water.
4. Lemon Juice and Olive Oil
Lemon is the best ingredient for controlling oil and it brightens the skin too by removing scars, dark spots, and other patches. And it suits all skin type as well. Mix 2 Tbsp of lemon juice with the same amount of honey. Add 5 drops of olive oil (buy it from Amazon). Wash off your face with water before applying. Then apply the mask and keep it for 20 minutes and wipe off with cloth later. Lastly, wash off with water.
5. Milk Mask
Make a mask using milk, almond oil, aloe Vera gel, honey and any of your favorite essential oil. Apply the mixture on the face and wash after 15 minutes.
6. Orange and Lemon Peel Mask
Orange can unblock your skin pores clogged due to excess oil and impurities. Grind the dried peel of an orange to make its powder. Make a paste with yogurt or water and add a few drops of lemon juice. You can add honey or other fruit extracts or juice like tomato, grapefruit, papaya and all.
7. Blueberry and Strawberry
Blueberry repairs cells and stops aging, and strawberry fights off oil. Smash 2-3 strawberries and blueberries. Add lemon juice. Wash off with just water after 20 minutes.
Something More For the Oily Skin Owner:
- Mash a banana and leave it for 20 minutes.
- Make a thick paste of cornmeal with water. Use constant circular motion while applying. Wash off after 15 minutes.
- Put a mask of sandalwood (buy it from Amazon) and rosewater for 15 minutes before washing off with cold water.
- Grind onion and oatmeal in a paste so that there will be small granules through the mask.
- Apply cucumber slice or cucumber smashed.
- Smash a strawberry and add a little bit of milk in it to make a paste.
Skin Whitening Mask:
1. Papaya and Banana
This mask suits all skin types, especially dry ones. It takes off the dryness from the face. It also works as a skin lightener. Papaya keeps skin’s melanin under control. And as for banana, it can add a glow to a man rough skin. Mash a banana and an equivalent size of a papaya. Add some honey to it. Set it for 20 minutes after applying. Wash off. Try it at least thrice a week and see the change.
2. Chickpea Flour or Besan Mask
Chickpea flour is been used for ages as a skin lightener. Take 1Tbsp of chickpea flour, put 3 pinches of turmeric powder and make a paste of it using sour curd. Wash after 20 minutes.
3. Herbal Tulsi and Mint Mask
Mint brightens the dull shallow skin complexion and also gets rid of acne and pimples like Tulsi. Either you can take powder of these ingredients or make a paste by grinding 10-12 leaves together. It is very subtle and suits all and can be done 3 times a week.
4. Lemon and Honey
By regular use, lemon can lighten skin complexion and honey will control its acidic nature making it safe for daily use and especially for sensitive skin and add moisture as well. Just mix 1 Tbsp of honey and lemon juice and apply. Wash off after 20 minutes. NEVER use warm water on the face and DO NOT go out in the sun. This one suits oily skin perfectly.
5. Oatmeal and Tomato Juice
Oatmeal will get rid of the dead layer of the skin and reveal the fresh one and tomato removes the suntan. Mix 1 Tsp of oatmeal and 3 Tsp of tomato juice in a bowl and let it rest for 5 minutes so the oatmeal softens. Wash off after 20 minutes. This too can be used thrice a week.
6. Orange Juice and Fuller’s Clay
Fuller’s Clay (buy it from Amazon) lightens the skin and also can remove the extra grease, dirt, and oils from the face and keeps skin oil free. Add some orange juice with 1 Tsp of Fuller’s Clay in a bowl. In case of not having orange or anything else, sugarcane juice or lemon juice can also be added. Apply and rinse off after 20 minutes.
Acne and Pimples:
1. Neem Pack
Neem is well known for its anti-bacterial properties. It clears skin infections and any other impurities. Take 1 Tsp of neem powder and mix it with rose water or just water to make a smooth thick paste. Apply for 15-20 minutes before washing off. Use this 3 times a week.
2. Oatmeal Face Pack
As oatmeal soaks oil from skin pores and its rough texture gets rid of all impurities, it can be a wonder for acne prone skin and blackheads. Make a paste of oatmeal by blending. Add hot but not boiling water to make a paste. Leave it for several minutes. Later add 1 Tbsp of honey, yogurt, and egg white to make a paste. 10-15 minutes is enough for it to work magic on the face. Use warm water to wash.

1. Yogurt and Turmeric Mask for Tan Removal
Men who spend a long amount of time in the sun will be benefitted. Add 3 pinches of turmeric with curd or yogurt and apply it on tanned parts. Wash it off after 20 minutes.
2. Curd and Rice Flour for Exfoliation
