No one likes stinky, do you? Of course not! Body odor is an issue that makes people maintain a distance from you even if they are your closest buddies.
You might have observed people turning their faces cleverly while talking to you or covering their noses with book, hand or tissue paper. It is because your body odor is unbearable for their smelling sense and they want to indicate it too without hurting you.
It is, therefore, one of the greatest social disasters to not to be pleasant for others. That doesn’t really mean that sweating is not a good thing, it is healthy to sweat but do you know that actually, two types of glands in our body produce sweat.
Eccrine glands do not produce stinky sweat. This type of sweat in neutral-smelling and when it evaporates, it cools down the temperature of your body. Secondly, we have Apocrine glands. Our genitals and underarms are the main areas where these glands produce sweat and most often when we are stressed, angry or excited for sex appeal, this kind of sweat is produced with strong odors.
Also, there are some specific diseases and their medicines which can cause bad sweat.
Like many other beauty products, body mists and deodorants are also among the highest selling products. You can use perfumes, body sprays, shower gels, essential oils, body butter and lotions, underarm roll-ons and so many other products to control this type of body smells but all of these products won’t work for so long.
The reason behind that is such products do not harm bacteria which are responsible to create such nasty odors. Alternatively, we are listing here a few home remedies which are natural, and far effective from those artificial products to add fragrance to your dress rather than your body.
Possibly the cause behind this is these natural products fight against bacteria and so kill the actual reason for trouble.
Generally, you will find these products in your kitchen and if not, you can easily get them from the market. There is nothing difficult to prepare these remedies and apply them but their benefit is so deep effective and everlasting for us.
Baking Soda and Lemon Juice
Baking soda (buy it from Amazon) is such a nice ingredient to absorb sweat and so it helps reducing odor naturally, moreover, it is harmful to bacterial life so it cuts the very root of this problem.
First of all, we are going to tell you that how you can use it as a mixture of lemon juice. You have to take an equal amount of both ingredients. If you are taking one tablespoon of baking soda, you will need equal of lemon juice. Mix them well and apply it to all those excessive sweating areas like underarms.
Let the mixture sit there for a few minutes and then take a shower or simply, rinse it off with water. Do not rub; do not let it be over dried. You need to repeat this process for the rest of the week on daily basis to feel the difference.
Both of these ingredients are magical to work against sweat. Having strong absorbing power, these won’t let wetness stay on your creased areas. Mostly sweat gathers where you have chubbiness that makes creases. You have to combine corn starch and baking soda equally and dust this powder where you have sweat. This mixture will control sweating for long hours and you will be safe from bad odors.
Surprised? Yes! You can use lemon juice separately for the purpose and you will find excellent results as lemon juice is the best bacteria killing ingredient. It lowers the pH level of your skin and so the bacteria won’t survive to produce nasty smells.
The procedure of using lemon juice is simple. You have to cut a lemon in two halves and simply squeeze and rub it in your underarms. Let the juice get absorbed in the skin and they leave it to rest and dry. When it is all dried out, take a shower.
Lemon juice is safe and you can use it daily until you get the desired results. Please be careful if you are having sensitive skin. We don’t say that you cannot use it for sensitive skin but you have to be a bit cautious while applying it. Instead of applying directly, dilute a half of lemon’s juice with a half cup of water. Using a cotton ball, apply this mixture to underarms and let dry. After 10 minutes, take a shower. Please note that lemon juice can cause irritation or sting if you will be using it after shaving. Avoid using it for 24 hours after shaving.
Lemon juice can also dry out the skin. If happens so, apply a light moisturizer to the skin.
Tea Tree oil
Though tea tree oil (buy it from Amazon) is not for every type of skin, you can use it after testing and maximum chances are there that it will suit you unless you have an over sensitive skin.
It is a natural, strong and effective antiseptic and antibacterial ingredient which helps to protect your skin against fungi and bacteria to produce over your body or survive.
A solution of tea tree oil (2 drops) and water (2 tablespoons) is good to be used instead of your daily deodorant. Just apply it to your armpits and leave. You will feel fresh and free from sweating odors all day long. Tea tree oil is also used in various weight losing supplements.
Rosemary herb (buy it from Amazon) is easily available in the supermarket because those who love to cook, use it in most of the Italian dishes for a good taste and tempting smell.
It can also kill bacteria and fungi and make your body naturally fragranced and fresh. You can use it while taking a bath as well. Take about a half cup of rosemary leaves (dried) and add them to almost 4 cups of water. Let them soaked for a good time and then add this refreshing and perfumed water to your bath. Or make a powder of it by grinding dried rosemary leaves. You can dust this powder to your body like talcum powder to get the equal benefit and a long lasting fragrance.
Remember that all natural herbs are good but these can be irritating for some people. Discontinue it if your skin feels irritated after using it. It is good to have a ‘patch test’ by applying these ingredients somewhere on a small area of your body before applying it. If you feel redness or itchy skin, do not use them and apply some vitamin E cream or clay mask where you have irritated skin.
